“If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done.”

Gym number two. Today I visited the second gym I chose. The sign outside said come in for a tour, you won’t be disappointed. So I went in and asked for a tour. Wow! That gym is new and looks like you stepped into a gym in Manhattan, New York. They don’t only have a gym with all the equipment you can imagine, but they have a separate part for everyone who’s really serious about weight lifting and they have a pool! And not only a pool, but also a Sauna, a Turkish bath and tanning beds. So not only everything for effort, but also for relaxation.
After getting the tour I decided I might as well have my first lesson at the same time. So I paid a small fee and a personal trainer (PT) guided me from the first step into the door. And the first step was onto the scale… But, the most important things here was the fat percentage. So now I know the fat percentage in my body is 42.8% or 46.4kg or 100 pounds. So if I were to have no fat at all (which is not healthy) I would weigh 61,9kg… I now also know that my metabolic age is 50… Ouch! According to this little piece of paper the scale spit out, my ideal weight would be 72.1kg or 11 stone and 5 pounds. Another good to know is that my body needs 1920 kcal to stay steady.
In the end, there was one plus on this little piece of paper. My muscle mass was way more than average, so I am already strong (which I knew, but it’s still nice that this little piece of paper acknowledged this!). She also noticed this when we went onto the equipment. Normally she puts the weights on 12,5 kg/27 lbs and first go I could lift 22,5 kg/ 50 lbs with ease on most of the machines. #proudmoment
I felt like I got the luxurious treatment. She stayed with me the whole hour and guided me through all the different equipment. Best thing about this was that it made my uncertainty about all these devices go away. Big difference with the other gym was that these devices clearly had an instruction on them. An instruction easy to follow. This was one of the things I missed in the other gym. The PT was very friendly and willing to explain stuff to anyone who asked. At the bar downstairs they asked again if I liked it and if there was anything more I wanted to know. I got a flyer about Personal training, which is possible per lesson and you can get a separate food plan. Just one but, the gym subscription now has an offer which makes it cheaper, but you’re stuck to the gym for 6 months. So I better know for sure.
