My biggest issue in the gym is keeping my own pace. Taking the minutes I need in between sets to lower my heart rate. Especially when there’s someone next to you who takes shorter breaks. Just doing your own thing and keeping your own pace is hard.
Oh! Or when someone wants to use the machine your on and asks how long you’ll be. “Just 2 more sets” but because they asked, you don’t take the downtime you need. So advice: never ask a person how long they will be. Either go on a different machine or just wait.
But I’m getting better at it. I realise I need to take my time to be able to complete my sets. Everyone is working their own pace and everyone is on a different place in their training. So no use comparing and you should just stay your own course. Like I did today!
